2. Census in 1880 in Jackson Twp., Northumberland, PA. 7 The 1880 census recorded John S. Eyster, retired farmer, 60, living with wife Caroline, 51. Also in the home was Corry C. Wetzel, servant, 8. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Caroline Eisenhart-Eister (1-4) a daughter of Mary Geist-Eisenhart (11-3) was born at Greenbrier, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania on January 17, 1821 and died at Shenandoah, Schuylkill County. She is buried in the I. O. O. F. cemetery at Shenandoah but has no tombstone. She may be buried with her two brothers on the same plot. The brothers have tombstones but none can be found for her. She was a housewife and had the German education of that time. She married John Eister (1-4) on __ and they had three children.

John Eister (1-4) the husband of Caroline Eisenhart-Eister (1-4) died near Herndon, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania in about 1881, and may be buried at Hickory Corners or at the Peiffers Church. He was a lame man and was one of those early teachers who went from house to house to teach the children and was paid by the parents whose children they taught. He also was repairing clocks and watches.
