George Geist Will, 1830

In the Name of God Amen, I George Geist Senr of the Township of Upper Mahantongo in the County of Schuylkill Yeoman being in perfect health of body and of sound mind memory and understanding, but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my last will and testament in Manner and form following to wit. First it is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and Satisfied as soon as convinient can be after my decease.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my Son Jacob One Dollar, to the children of my Daughter Christina late the wife of Daniel Mourer One Dollar, to the children of my Daughter Salme (widow Boyer) now wife of Jacob Neidlinger One Dollar and the remainder of my personal Estate to my Son Jesaias Geist and to the children of my Son George to be devided in two equal shares, the one half to Jesaias and the other half to my Son George¹s children.
And Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said Son Jesaias to be the Executor of this my last Will, hereby revoking all other Wills, Legacies and bequests by me heretofore made, and declaring this and no other to be my last Will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the third day of September One thousand Eight hundred thirty. Signed
