2. He served in the military on 6 Jul 1863. Isaac enlisted July 6, 1863 in Co. B. 21st Regiment Pa. Volunteer Cavalry as a private and was promoted to commissary servant. He was 20, 1864 but prior to his discharge honorably discharged February, he reenlisted in the same company and was promoted to 1st Sergeant, 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant and Captain respectively. He was discharged and mustered out of service July 15, 1865 by reason of the termination of the war. Captain Bucher stood guard when Lincoln delivered his address at Gettysburg. He fought at Cold Harbor, Petersburg, Jerusalem, Cross Roads, Weldon Railroad, Popular Grove, Boydton, Stoney Creek, Richmond, etc. His regiment made the final charge on Lee's Army.

3. Census in 1870 in Franklin Twp., Adams, PA. 8 Isaac Bucher, farmer, 29, was living with wife Sarah, 27; Larkin, 4; and Minnie, 1. His real estate was worth $3,600 and personal estate $800. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office was Seven Stars.
