Benjamin Sherburn, 33, brick maker, is living with wife Mary, 27; Margaret, 9; Lusinda, 7; Horace, 5; Abraham, 2; and Elizabeth Sherburn, 16. All were born in Pennsylvania.

Michael Sherburn, 44, farmer, is living with wife Elizabeth, 38; Frederick, 16, laborer; George, 14; John, 12; Ann, 10; Elizabeth, 8; Mary J., 6; Frances, 3; and Cyrus, 6 months when the Census was recorded on 26 Sep 1850. All were born in Pennsylvania.

Henry Sherburn, 30, brick maker, is living with wife Ann, 29; Franklin, 3; Frances,1; and Henry Sherburn, 19, brick maker. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

2. Book: History of Lancaster County, 1889. 2

In 1855, Michael Sherbahn erected a brick-kiln at the south end of the village of Maytown, and the manufacture of brick has ever since been carried on there. Benjamin Henderson became owner of the property in 1870, and in 1882 L. B. Lenhart, the present proprietor, purchased it. All varieties of brick are manufactured here, and the annual production is five hundred thousand. Ten hands are employed in the business.
