13. Obituary: Daily Local News on 4 Jun 1943 in West Chester, Chester, PA. 10 Lewis W. Beecher, aged 89 years, died at his home, 41 South Eighth Avenue, Coatesville, yesterday. He was born and raised in Coatesville, son of the late William and Lydia Kinnard Beecher. He had been ill for about two months, but had been about his business, that of a butcher, in Central Market House until a week ago. He was in the meat business in Coatesville fifty years, his first place of business being at Third Avenue and Lincoln Highway. As a young man he worked at farming in that vicinity. Mr. Beecher was a highly respected citizen. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and the Iron Rose Bible Class. He was the last of his family. Surviving are his wife, Lydia K. Beecher, and two daughters; Misses Mary E. and Anna K. Beecher, and several nieces and nephews.
