Shippensburg Native Dies Tuesday at Carlisle

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14 at 2:30 p.m. from the M. Garfield Barbour funeral home for James A. Sheaffer, 72, of Carlisle R. R. 4 who died Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. in the Carlisle hospital. Death followed two weeks in the hospital.
A native of Shippensburg, Mr. Sheaffer, the son of the late Rudolph and L. K. Beecher Sheaffer, was born Nov. 25, 1881. He was an employee of the Federal Equipment company of Carlisle and a member of Grace Evangelical United Brethren church in Carlisle.
He is survived by one son, Elwood Sheaffer of Carlisle R. R. 4, and a brother, Clark Sheaffer of Churchtown.
Rev. Simpson B. Daughterty will officiate at the Friday service and interment will be in the Spring Hill cemetery.
Relatives and friends were to call at the funeral home Thursday evening.
