1. Census in 1860 in Elizabeth Twp., Lancaster, PA. ⁵ Jonas W. Bucker, machinist, 31, was living with wife Anna, 28; Susan, 8; Mary, 6; Phares, 4; Levi, 2 1/2, John, 2. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. His farm was worth $3,000 and personal estate $200. The post office was Durlach.

2. Census in 1870 in Clay Twp., Lancaster, PA. ⁴ Jonas Bucher, farmer, 42, was living with wife Anna, 38; Susan, 18; Maryan, 16; Phares, farm laborer, 15; Levi, 13; John, 11; Jonathan, 10; Lizzie, 9; Hiram, 8; Benjamin, 5; Anna, 3; and Amanda, 1. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. Jonas' farm was worth $15,000 and personal estate $2,000.

3. Census in 1900 in Colerain Twp., Lancaster, PA. ¹ Levi B. Bucher, farmer, 43, born Dec 1856, was married for 17 years to Mary. A., 38, Feb 1862. She had birthed 8 children, 6 alive in 1900: David M., 12, Jun 1887; Levi, 11, Jan 1889; Anna May, 10, May 1890; John Miller, 8, Aug 1891, Alice E., 4; Jun 1895; Mary Ada, 3, Sep 1896. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. Levi owned his farm.

4. Obituary: The Gospel Herald on 8 Dec 1927. ² Bucher.--Levi, son of the late Jonas W. and Anna Bollinger Bucher, was born Dec. 29, 1856, Lancaster Co., Pa.; died Nov. 8, 1927, in Quarryville, Pa.; aged 70 y. 10 m. 10 d. He was ill but a short time. His death was due to a stroke. On Thursday morning, Nov. 3, he was stricken while at the breakfast table. His entire right side became paralyzed. Although he suffered no pain he was put to bed and was not thought to be in a serious condition until the following Tuesday evening, when he passed on. He joined the Mennonite Church in his youth and remained faithful until death. A daughter (Alice, formerly employed by the Mennonite Publishing House) and a son (David) preceded him to the spirit world. He is survived by the following children: Levi, Mrs. Anna Shoemaker, Milton, Mrs. Mary Hoyt and Mrs. Elva Herr. Ten grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive; Mrs. Susan Brubaker, Phares Bucher, Mrs. Lizzie High, John Bucher, Mrs. J. P. Burkholder, Mrs. Annie Buckwalter and Mrs. Amanda Erb. Funeral services were held from the Mechanics Grove Mennonite Church Nov. 11, conducted by C. M. Brackbill and Abram Metzler. Text, Jno. 14:1. Burial in the Mechanics Grove Cemetery.
