A wedding of beautiful simplicity was solemnized at St. Boniface church Saturday morning at 8 o'clock, when Miss Martha Beeker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manford Beeker, of Brookston, became the bride of John K. Mugg of Lafayette. Rev. Fridlon Schuster, O. F. M., read the ceremony before an altar adorned with ferns, white lilacs and lighted tapers. The children's choir sang. The bride was attractive in ivory slipper satin, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and a full skirt tapering to a slight train. Her fingertip veil of tulle and lace fell from a tiara of orange blossoms and lilies of the valley. She carried a single cala lily in a pearl prayer book, from which fell a shower of white rose buds on white satin ribbon. Her only jewelry was a strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. Miss Maxine Beeker, who served her sister as maid of honor, wore blue net and lace over taffeta, and Mrs. Ernest Wisley, bridesmaid, wore pink net and lace over taffeta. Both attendants wore matching shoulder length veils which fell from tiaras of rose buds. They carried roses and wore strands of pearls, a gift of the bride. Joe Mugg served his brother as best man. Ushers were Clyde Fiscus of Mitchill, and Arthur Hege. Breakfast was served at The Embassy. Roses and lighted tapers adorned the table. Immediately after the breakfast, Mr. and Mrs. Mugg departed on a wedding trip through the south. The bride is a graduate of Brookston high school and attended Lafayette Business college. She is employed by the J. C, Penney company and is a member of Psi Iota XI sorority, at Brookston. The groom is a graduate of Battle Ground high school and Purdue university.
