Harrington, 83, died Monday, June 23, 2003 in the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon. He was the son of the late Luther T. Harrington and Zettie Pearson Harrington. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Harrington. He was an original employee of Citizens State Bank which later became First National Bank of Alma, and served many different capacities. He retired as President of First National Bank. He also served as chairman of the Board of Directors of Nicholls State Bank. He was at one time the County Treasure of Bacon. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Mr. Harrington was also a Deacon of First Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Nella Beecher Harrington of Alma; one brother, Johnny Harrinton and wife Sandra, of Jesup. Visitation: 6:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Serivces: 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Blankenship and Rev. Richard Johnson officiating.
