Samuel and his parents were born in South Carolina [should be North]. Rosa and Mildred were born in Alabama, their father in Kentucky and their mother in Germany. The children were born in Alabama.

2. Census in 1950 in Birmingham, Jefferson, AL. ¹⁰ The 1950 census recorded at 1701 50th Street East: Rosa E. Beeker, 48, living with daughters Edna R., stenographer in steel mill, 25, and Augusta L., 15. They were born in Alabama.

4. Census in 1940 in Birmingham, Jefferson, AL. ³ The 1940 census recorded renting at 1201 50th Street: Samuel Beeker, line man construction for power company, 49, living with wife Rose, 38; Samuel, 19; Edna Rose, 15; William Lonnie, 8; and Augusta, 5. Samuel Sr. was born in North Carolina, the others in Alabama. They were in the same place in 1935.

7. Obituary: Birmingham News: obituaryof Edna Rose Beeker on 16 Aug 2005 in Birmingham, Jefferson, AL. ⁶ BEEKER, EDNA ROSE, of Birmingham passed away Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the age of 80. She lived with her sister in Pace, FL for the past four months.

Miss Beeker was retired from the accounting department of U.S. Steel with 40 years of service and was a member of Central Park United Methodist Church.

Miss Beeker was preceeded in death by her parents Samuel and Rosa Brill Beeker and brother Sam Beeker.

Survivors include her sister, Augusta Dougherty of Pace, FL, brother William Beeker (Helen) of Titusville, FL, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great nieces, 4 great nephews and one great-great niece, and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 1 p.m. Elmwood Chapel, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
