Services for Donald B. Beecher, 72, retired president of Equitable Gas Co. and its subsidiaries, will be at 11 a. m. Thursday at the E. B. Laughlin Funeral Home, 3310 West Liberty Ave. Mr. Beecher, of 5 Osage Road, Mount Lebanon, who also was a member of the company's board of directors, died yesterday at his winter home in Florida. He began his career with Equitable as a fieldman in 1926 and was promoted to various positions before being transferred to Kentucky-West Virginia Gas Co., an Equitable subsidiary, as an assistant to the vice president. He was vice president and general manager of that company from 1945 to 1952 when he came back to Equitable as vice president and genial manager. Five years later he was elected president of the company until he retired in 1967 but remained as a consultant with the firm. He is survived by his widow, Emily. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
