3. Obituary: York Daily: obituary of Mrs. Gotleib Druck on 16 Sep 1875 in York, York, PA. 6 REMARKABLE FATALITY. -- Mrs. Gotleib Druck, of Hellam township, aged 88 years, and her son Mr. Henry Druck, aged 57 years, residing only about three-fourths of a mile apart, died the same day, Monday last, under the following sad circumstances:
On Friday night of last week Mr. Druck received a paralytic stroke, after an illness of a day or two, from the effects of which he died on Monday, having been perfectly unconscious from the time he was paralyzed.
During the evening of the same day Mrs. Druck, mother of the deceased, in attempting to pass down a stairway at her residence, fell and broke her neck, causing almost instant death. She just had learned of the death of her son.
Both funerals took place yesterday. First the friends and relatives met at the late residence of Mr. Druck from where his remains were taken to a family burying ground close by, and interred, after which all proceeded to the residence of the deceased lady, assembled in the barn, where the corpse was brought, the crowd being too large to get into the house, and a regular funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. Mr. Seachrist, after which the remains of the deceased mother were interred on a family burying ground near her late residence.
Mr. Druck leaves a wife and three children, one of whom is subject to epileptic fits and is continually confined to her room.
