• Will, 29 Mar 1878, Heidelberg Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, USA. 11 I, Jacob Bucher of Heidleberg Township, York County Pennsylvania being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this as my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made, as to such estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with, I dispose of the same as follows, viz.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob F. Bucher my plantation and tract of land situate lying and being part in Heidleberg Township, York County, and part in Berwick Township Adams County, containing ninety acres more or less, adjoining lands of John Bucher, John Forry, Benjamin Forry and others, together with the improvements and appurtenances, I also give and bequeath unto my said son Jacob F. Bucher, my wood lot situate lying and being in Berwick Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, containing eighteen acres and a half adjoining land of John Richter, John Bucher, Jacob Clunk and others, upon the following conditions, viz;
My said son Jacob F. Bucher to pay out unto my son George M. Bucher the sum of six thousand dollars, as follows, viz; three thousand dollars in one year after my decease, and the balance in six annual payments of five hundred each without interest, the first of said payments to be and commence in two years after my desease, and further my said son Jacob F. Bucher shall furnish my wife Nancy annually during her natural life or so long as she keeps my name twelve bushels of wheat, twenty five bushels of corn, twenty five bushels of oats, one sack of salt, sufficient firewood, fruit, pasture and hay for one cow, with a home or sufficient house and stable room on the ninety acre tract (at present our private residence)
Item, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife and companion my horse carriage & harnes, also one cow, also the produce to be furnished her annually as aforesaid by my said son Jacob F. Bucher, including the home or life estate in the ninety acre tract, during her natural life or so long as she remains my widow - all of which bequeathed to my said wife I do declare to be in lieu and stead of her dower at common law, should it be the case that my said wife would rather live in Hanover, it is my will and I order that a suitable place be purchased for her use during her widowhood as aforesaid, out of the money to be paid or coming to my son George M. Bucher, and at her desease the said property to be that of my son, George M. Bucher. I order and direct that in case my said wife should move to Hanover, that the produce etc then be delivered to her annually as aforesaid in Hanover, all the rest and remainder of my estate real personal and mixed of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever the same may be at the time of my death after paying my just debts funeral and other expenses, I give and bequeath unto my two sons, Jacob F. Bucher and George M. Bucher, share and share alike their heirs and assigns forever. Lastly, I appoint my said two sons Jacob F. and George M. Bucher, to be the executors of this my last will and testament.

Before me John S. Hiestand, Register for the probate of wills and of granting letters of administration, in and for the County of York, personally appeared C. W. Forney and L.F. Melsheimer, the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will, who, upon being duly qualified according to law, do depose and say, that they were personally present and saw and heard, Jacob Bucher, late of Heidelberg Township, deceased, the testator, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the within and foregoing instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament, and at the time of his so doing, he the testator, was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of their knowledge and belief, and that they witnessed the same at the request of the testator, and in the presence of each other at the same time.
Sworn and subscribed to before me this 21st day C. W. Forney of August, A.D. 1879, John Hiestand, Register. L. F. Melsheimer Memorandum, Jacob Bucher, the said decedent, died August 6th, A.D. 1879 at or about 6 O'clock in the forenoon, as per affidavit in book C vol 1 page 300 filed August 21st A.D. 1879. Letters Testamentary, on the foregoing will of Jacob Bucher, deceased, were granted to Jacob F. Bucher and George M. Bucher, the executors named in the said will, after being duly qualified according to law the 21st day of August, A.D. 1879. John S.
