2. John served in the military in 1780 in , Lancaster, PA. Joseph Bucher and John Bucher are on the muster rolls for the 3rd Company, 3rd Battalion, Lancaster County Militia, under Colonel George Feather, in 1780.

3. He served in the military in 1781 in , Lancaster, PA. Joseph Bucher and John Bucher were in 3rd Company, 3rd Battalion during the Revolutionary War.

Joseph and John Bucher are listed as owners of a 300-acre property valued at 9,570 [not sure if pounds or dollars, but this is among the very wealthiest listed in the township] with a 1-story stone & log structure 43 feet by 25 feet. They also own an additonal 100 acres occupied by tenant George Gingrich, valued at 1,110 with a 1-story log structure 24 feet by 18 feet; and 90 acres occupied by tenant Daniel Miller, valued at 1,080, with a 1-story log structure 27 feet by 24 feet.
