1. Obituary: Crisfield Times: obituary of Marion Swann Tawes on 25 Jan 1913 in Crisfield, Somerset, MD. ^{1 2} Mrs. Marion Tawes, beloved wife of I. Geo. Tawes one, of Crisfield's leading Sea Food dealers, passed away at the General and Marine Hospital in this city last Friday night, after an illness of about three weeks. Mrs. Tawes was 41 years of age, and death was due to Typhoid-pneumonia. Her condition was at all times considered critical, but none thought the end so near. On Friday however, she began to grow weaker, and shortly after nightfall she sank to sleep as peacefully as a babe on its mother's breast.

Before her marriage the deceased was a Miss Swan of Coan, Va. In early girlhood she became a member of the Baptist church, and was a devout follower of the cross until the end. Mrs. Tawes was active in church matters, ever ready to shoulder a burden and make someone's lot happier, and she enjoyed the love and respect of all with whom she came in contact. She was indeed a christian woman, whose christianity was to be seen in her daily life.

She is survived by her husband and five children, two sons and three daughters, who have the sympathy of the community in this, their hour of sorrow. Funeral services were held in the First Baptist church at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. W. Laub, assisted by Revs. J. S. Wharton, Louis Randall and E. H. Dashiell. The pall bearers were: John W. Tawes, Edward Tawes, Wm. H. Adams, Vernon Tawes, R. R. Tawes and John Adams. The floral tribute was elaborate\emdash in fact one of the most beautiful ever seen in Crisfield. Interment was made in the Crisfield cemetery.
