Obituary: Pottsville Republican: obituary of John Chernosky Jr. on 10 Aug 1957 in Pottsville, Schuylkill, PA. ¹ John Chernosky Jr., of 249 Middle St., Minersville, died Saturday at 3:21 a.m. in Good Samariton Hospital. Ill for three weeks, he had been admitted as a medical patient on Thursday. A native of New Philadelphia, Mr. Chernosky was a son of the late John and Mary Juodis Chernosky. He attended Minersville schools, graduated from Kutztown State Teachers College and taught school in Blythe Township High School. Recently employed at Pine Knot, he was a member of St. Francis Church of Minersville, and the Minersville Amvets. Surviving are two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Anna Tamkunas, at home; Mrs. Dorothy Bicher of Lebanon and Anthony of Uniontown, N. J.; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Tuesday morning from Dutcavich Funeral Home, 202 Sunbury St., Minersville. Mass will be celebrated in St. Francis Church. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery.
