  General Notes:

On page 170 of "Cemetery Records of Lancaster County" there is a note written by Dr. Shirley A. Harmon who compiled the listings: "the sister of Rebecca Grill was Magdalena Grill who was married to Jacob Bucher, bro/o Benedict Bucher. Benedict Bucher was married to Catherine Mellinger." The book lists that the parents of Rebecca Grill were Franz & Elizabeth Dester Ruth. ³

• Census, 1850, West Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA. ² In the 1850 Census in West Cocalico Township, Jacob Bucher, farmer, 67, is living in his daughter Rebecca's household headed by her husband, John Hacker [could be Hasker, handwriting is unclear]. Rebecca is 38, and John is a 42-year old farmer. John has no real estate and Jacob's is valued at $8,400, so it is clear John is farming Jacob's estate. Rebecca has two children living at home: Susanna, 17; John, 11. Also living with them is George Shafer, 28; and Leah Foltz, 15. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

Jacob married Magdalena Ruth, daughter of Frantz Ruth and Elizabeth Dester. (Magdalena Ruth was born on 25 Aug 1785 ¹ and died on 3 Sep 1821 ¹.)
