Also living with them is Laura Grist, 2. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office is Bowmansville. His property is valued at $2000.

2. Court: Lancaster Deed Book X12 page 144 records that on 2 Apr 1887 Jacob Bicher having attained age 21 received $175.45 as his share of the estate of his father Jacob Bicher. on 2 Apr 1887 in Brecknock Twp., Lancaster, PA. ¹⁴ Jacob Bicher.

Know all men by these presents, that I Jacob Bicher, of Brecknock Township County of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania laborer having attained the age of twenty one years do hereby acknowledge that I this day have had and received of and from John Bicher Trustee duly appointed by my father in his will the sum of one hundred and seventy one dollars and forty five cents together with the note to him given by one, and therefore I do by these presents remise release quit-claim and forever discharge the said John Bicher his heirs executors and administrators of and from the said Trusteeship and of and from the said legacy or legacies and from all actions suits payments accounts reckonings claims and demands whatsoever for or by thereof or of any other act matter reason cause or thing whatsoever from the beginning of the world to the day of the date of these presents. 3. Newspaper: Lancaster Examiner, 22 Jan 1890, Lancaster, Lancaster, PA. Mad Deg at Martlndale.
Martindale and vicinity had a mad dog scare last week. The rabid animal bit every dog it met, in all not less than a dozen. He went into Joseph Gehmans barnyard, and, it is thought, bit three head of cattle. At David Burkholders Mr. Jacob Bicher was pumping water in the barnyard, where, without any warning at all, the dog jumped upon his back. The only damage done Mr. Bicher was that he was nearly scared out of his boots. At Samuel Rutts butcher shop he bit a steer belonging to Mr. R., who now keeps the animal tied up securely. The dog was finally shot dead by the butchers brother on the premises of Joseph Eberly.

Living in his household is his wife, Mary, 28, born Feb 1872; and Henry, born Oct. 1892; and Ada, born May 1900. The record shows Jacob and Mary were married 9 years and had given birth to a total of two children. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

6. Census in 1910 in Brecknock Twp., Lancaster, PA. ¹⁵ Jacob Bicher, farmer, age 44, is living with wife Mary, age 38, married 19 years. She had given birth to two children, two of who were still living. Living with them are son Henry, 18; Ada, 10; and brother-in-law Martin Fox, 29. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

7. Newspaper: Lancaster New Era, 23 Jul 1910, Lancaster, Lancaster, PA. ¹⁶ Jacob Bicher of near Red Run, had a turkey hen and gobbler watch worked together very nobly. Mr. Bicher set the hen with six eggs, and within a week she died. The gobbler, seeing the vacancy, goes on the nest and completes the hatching, bringing forth two young turkeys, the other four eggs being broken. The gobbler is very proud of his young, and takes extra good care of them.

Next door was Jacob's son Henry Bicher, farm manager, 27, living with wife Lydia, 22, and daughter Emma, 4 months old. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Jacob Bicher, seventy-four, of Murrell, died suddenly at 3 a. m. Friday at this home. Dr. E. R. Miller, deputy coroner, of Ephrata, said death was caused by a heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Fox Bicher, the following children, Henry, Murrell; Mrs. Barton Sensenig, Lititz R. D. 4, and Mrs. John Zimmerman, New Holland R. D. 1; a sister, Mrs. Mary Bryan, Terre Hill, and a brother, Benjamin, Lebanon.

Jacob Bicher in his seventy-fifth year. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.
