2. Newspaper: Baltimore Sun: Marriage of Strayer - Bell, 18 Sep 1903, Baltimore, Baltimore, MD. 1 Miss Cora E. M. Bell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Bell, of 719 East Twenty-first street, was married to Mr. George Drayton Strayer in Alsquith Street Presbyterian Church last night. The ceremony was perfomed by the Rev. D. J. R. Strayer, of Saltillo, Pa., father of the groom. He was assisted by the Rev. David T. Neeley and the Rev. Wesley M. Hyde.
The bride wore white crepe de chine over silk and carried Bride roses. Teh bridesmaids, Miss Lena Bell and Miss Lela Bell, sisters of the bride, were dressed in white organdy and carried La France roses. The ushers were Messrs. Joseph T. Smith, Jr., and John A. Addison, classmates of the groom at John Hopkins University; Chas. S. Catherman and P. J. Harman.
A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride. The house was decorated in green and gold, ferns and golden-rod being largely used. A number of friends from Chicago, Pittsburg, Philadelphia, Wilmington and nearer points were present at the wedding and reception. Many presents were received.
Mr. and Mrs. Strayer left on a late train for New York.

3. Census in 1930 in Bronx, Bronx, NY, USA. 6 The 1930 census recorded owning a $29,000 home: George D. Strayer, professor at Columbia University, 54, living with wife Cora, 59; sons George D. Strayer Jr., administrator in public school, 23; John F. Staryer, 21, Paul J. Strayer, 18; servant Hilda Jacobs, 35; and Hilda's child Roderick Jacobs, 10. The father was born in Pennsylvania, his father in West Virginia and mother in Delaware. Cora and her parents were born in Ohio. Their sons were born in New York. The Jacobs and their parents were born in British West Indies.


Cora married George Drayton Strayer on 17 Sep 1903 in Baltimore, Baltimore, MD.1 (George Drayton Strayer was born on 29 Nov 1876 in Wayne, Delaware, PA 5 7 and died on 29 Sep 1962 in Princeton, Mercer, NJ 7.)
