Obituary: Greensboro Daily News: Alamance Youth Drowns In Lake on 11 Jun 1946 in Greensboro, Guilford, NC. 1 BURLINGTON, June 10 - Funeral will be conducted at Piedmont Presbyterian church Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. for Ray Lee beeker, 12, who was a victim of accidental drowning at Pasttime lake Sunday.
The victim was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lee beeker, of 812 Rainey street.
Dr. F. L. Smith, coroner, attributed the death to accidental drowning. Use of a pulmoto and artificial respiration failed to revive the youth. Lifeguard John Sneed recovered the body in 10 feet of water near the dam shortly before 9 o'clock.
A search was started when young Ray failed to return to his home for supper. His bicycle and clothes were found near the banks of the lake, and help was summoned to start diving for the body.
Surviving are the parents; one brother, Eddie Burl Beeker; paternal grandmoter, Mrs. Henry Beeker, of Kannpolis, and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Della Thompson, of Troy.
