MOUNT ULLA - Glenn Frank Havner, 80, of Mount Ulla, passed away Friday, December 21, 2007, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Born May 25, 1927, in Catawba County, Mr. Havner was the son of the late Ervin and Lilly Willis Havner. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired Shift Engineer for Transco in Davidson.

He was a member of the Mooresville Masonic Lodge 496 AF&AM and a member of Thyatira Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Beeker Havner; brothers Joe, Carrol and Dwight Havner; and sisters Ida Jane Stallings and Mary Fulbright.

He is survived by his children, Mary Edna Caldwell and husband Ronnie of Catawba, Steve Havner and wife Janice of Mount Ulla and Robin H. Drye and husband Sandy of Salisbury; sister Sue Havner Richards of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Lisa Lemons and husband Mike, Tina Leonard and husband James, and Scottie Havner; and great-grandchildren Sarah Lemons, Nathan and Evan Leonard, and Maggie Havner.

Service: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23 at Thyatira Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sandra Kern officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service in the church parlor.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Thyatira Presbyterian Church, 220 White Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.

Glenn married Wanda Laverne Beeker, daughter of Harrell Turner Beeker and Jessie Frances Owen.
