3. Obituary: on 7 Feb 2021 in Elkin, Surry, NC, USA. ⁴ Mrs. Lois Emma VanHoy Cearley, age 76, of Jonesville passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. Mrs. Cearley was born December 7, 1944 in Surry County to James and Emma Lou Edwards VanHoy.

Mrs. Cearley was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Cearley; second husband, Benny Beeker; and brother, Phillip VanHoy.

Survivors include: daughter, Sammie Dameron of Jonesville; son, Jackie Cearley of Jonesville; five step-grandchildren; special friends, Phyllis Gardner of Jonesville, Joyce Clossey of Jonesville, Kenneth McGowan of Jonesville; special cousin, Juanita Stanley of Dobson; and canine companion, Gus.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, February 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cearley will lie-in-state from 12:00 \endash 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Lois married Benny Ray Beeker, son of John Calvin Beeker Sr. and Annie Florede Bollinger, on 12 Apr 1994 in Independence, Grayson, VA, USA.¹ (Benny Ray Beeker was born on 25 Aug 1938 in , Rowan, NC,^{3 7} died on 5 Feb 2012 in Dobson, Surry, NC, USA ^{3 7} and was buried on 8 Feb 2012 in Jonesville: Fall Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Yadkin, NC, USA ^{3 7}.)
