An ardent admirer of nature, she supported World Wildlife Fund Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Nature Conservancy. She is survived by her husband, Harry Miller Beeker, of the home; sons Timothy Edward Beeker of Charlotte and Benjamin Gray Beeker of Raleigh; daughter Deborah Sue Beeker of New London; mother Mildred Freize Heilig of Gastonia; sisters Janie Louise Ratcliffe of Ruskin, FL, Sharlie Ann Godfrey of Gastonia; grandchildren Scott McSwain of Norwood, Matthew McSwain of Badin, Chris and Michelle Beeker of Huntersville; her beloved cats, D.C., Tondo and Mady.
