Obituary: Evansville Courier Press: obituary of Veronica Pauline (Messel) Catt on 6 Aug 2008 in Vincennes, Knox, IN. ² Veronica Pauline Catt, 79, of Vincennes, passed away at 9:20am Monday August 4, 2008 at the Lodge of the Wabash. She was born Jan 13, 1929 in Knox County the daughter of Cletus H. & Esther S. Bilskie Messel. She was a homemaker and devoted mother. She married Theodore L. Catt who preceded her in death on June 17, 1997 after 49 years of marriage. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and worked on various church projects to help in any capacity she could. She is survived by her children, Linda Benton, and her husband Ronald of New Providence, PA, Marsha Hawkins and her husband Dan of Ellettsville, IN, Mike Catt of Vincennes and Randy Catt and his wife Wanda, of Rocky Mount, NC. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Rhonda Thomas, Lena Holmes, Ryan Howe, David Howe, Noah Catt and Preston Hunter Catt. She was also blessed with 6 great grandchildren, Brittney Anderson, Amy Thomas, Danielle Holmes, Kaylie Holmes, Brayden Howe and Tyler Howe. Her husband, her parents and a brother preceded her in death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday August 8, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Fr. Jason Gries will be celebrant. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions can be made in her memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund or the Good Samaritan Hospital Cancer Center.
