At the Instance of William Beicher, of Womelsdorf, Luella Grimes, 27, his step-daughter was arrested by Police Detectives Huber and Brltton at Fourth and Penn streets, charged with assault and battery and surety of the peace.
Less than a week ago, Miss Grimes had her step-father arrested on the same charge. Alderman Focht issuing the warrant Beicher, entered bail for court, waiving a hearing.
The woman was not so fortunate and was taken to jail by Constable John W. Smith. She will be held for a hearing.
Both cases followed trouble at the Beicher home early last Sunday morning. Miss Grimes returned from an automobile ride. Her story is to the effect that her step - father met her at the door, knocked her down with his fists and then kicked her on the head.
The man claims that, prior to the alleged assault upon the woman, she created an uproar in the house, smashing dishes and furniture and threatening him.
