Harold and Norma Beecher, 8751 Ind. 16E, Twelve Mile, will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary with an open house. It will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, July 9, at Corinth Brethren Church, two miles south of Ind. 16, on 900E. They will repeat their wedding vows at 3 p.m.
Harold Larkin Beecher and Norma Jean Knauff were married July 9, 1950, in the home of the bride's parents in Perrysburg. Officiating at the private ceremony was the Rev. G.L. Maus.
He is a retired dairy man.
They have eight children, Stanley, Steven and Paul, all of Twelve Mile, Susan, Indianapolis, Sherry Brunden, Cleveland, Ohio, Scott, Howe, Shirley Ott, Logansport, and Patricia Webb, Valparaiso, and two grandchildren.

3. Obituary: Pharos Tribune: obituary of Norma Jean Beecher on 3 May 2006 in Logansport, Cass, IN. 11 Services for Norma Jean Beecher, 77, of WoodBridge Health Campus, Logansport, formerly of Twelve Mile and Rochester, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Corinth Brethren Church, Twelve Mile.

She died at 6:38 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2006, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born March 1, 1929, in Miami County, she was the daughter of Harry Elvin and Audra Rose Grandstaff Knauff. She was married July 9, 1950, in Perrysburg, to Harold Larkin Beecher, who survives.

A 1947 graduate of Deedsville High School, Mrs. Beecher attended Ball Memorial Nursing School in Muncie. While living in Rochester, she served as executive director of the Fulton County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and she volunteered as a guardian for individuals with disabilities.

Norma was a member of Corinth Brethren Church in Twelve Mile.

Also surviving are eight children, Stanley Beecher and his wife, Barb, Fort Wayne, Steven Beecher and his wife, Libby, Brattleboro, Vt., Susan Beecher, Indianapolis, Sherry Brunden and her husband, Kurt, Aurora, Ohio, Scott Beecher and his wife, Lisa, Howe, Shirley Ott and her husband, Eric, Logansport, Paul Beecher and his wife, Joyce, Craigville, and Patricia Webb and her husband, Warren, Valparaiso; eight grandchildren, Casey and Tori Ott, Terry and Jon Boggs, Larkin Webb, Nils Brunden and Keegan and Ridley Beecher; five stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers, Harry Knauff, Denver, and David and Dennis Knauff, Macy (Perrysburg).

Pastor Mike Thompson will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery, Twelve Mile.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in McClain Funeral Home and one hour before services Friday in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Born March 1, 1929 in Miami County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harry Elvin and Audra Rose Grandstaff Knauff. On July 9, 1950 in Perrysburg, Indiana, she was married to Harold Larkin Beecher, and he survives. Survivors include eight children: Stanley Beecher and his wife Barb, Ft. Wayne; Steven Beecher and his wife Libby, Brattleboro, Vermont; Susan Beecher, Indianapolis; Sherry Brunden and her husband Kurt, Aurora, Ohio; Scott Beecher and his wife Lisa, Howe, IN; Shirley Ott and her husband Eric, Logansport; Paul Beecher and his wife Joyce, Craigville, IN; and Patricia Webb and her husband Warren, Valparaiso, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2006 at Corinth Brethren Church, Twelve Mile with Pastor Mike Thompson officiating. Norma Jean Kanuff was born 1 March 1929 in Perrysburg. She graduated from Deedsville High School, Deedsville, Indian in 1947. She attended Ball Memorial Nursing School in Muncie, Indiana. She was the Executive Director of the Fulton County Chapter of the American Red Cross in Rochester, Indiana, and she also volunteered as a guardian for individuals with disabilities. She married Harold L. Beecher on 9 July 1950 in Miami County, Indiana.

Harold was born 2 May 1927 to Clinton E. and Grace H. Beecher in Bethlehem Township, Cass County, Indiana. He was the 8th of nine children and graduated in 1945 from Twelve Mile High School, Twelve Mile, Indiana. Harold and Norma Jean, and their family, raised prize-winning Holstein milk cows that were known internationally. One cow, Beecher Arlinda Ellen, set a world record for milk production and was featured in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1975. Ellen died at age 15 in 1984. Harold was a longtime active member of the Indiana State Holstein Association.


Norma married Harold Larkin Beecher, son of Clinton Everett Beecher and Grace Hazel Condon, on 9 Jul 1950 in Perrysburg, Miami, IN.1 2 (Harold Larkin Beecher was born on 2 May 1927 in Bethlehem Twp., Cass, IN,1 9 12 13 14 died on 12 Feb 2012 in Fort Wayne, Allen, IN 13 14 and was buried in Twelve Mile: Corinth Brethren Church, Cass, IN 13 14.)
