13. Obituary: Pharos-Tribune: Merrill C. Beecher Dies in South Bend on 15 Nov 1954 in Logansport, Cass, IN. ⁶ Merrill C. Beecher, 43, a farmer, residing near LaCrosse, died at 11 p.m. Saturday at Memorial hospital, South Bend.
Born in Fulton on May 28, 1911, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Beecher.
He was married in Logansport in September, 1931, to Elizabeth Fetrow. The deceased was a member of the LaCrosse Methodist church.
Surviviors include the wife, parents, now of Peru; a daughter, Sharon, at home; two sons, LaVerne and Fred of LaCrosse; four sisters, Mrs. Elaine Shafer, Royal Center; Mrs. Maxine Johnson and Mrs. Harriett Morris, both of Logansport; and Mrs. Jean Grable, Twelve Mile; four brothers, Everett, Thoaston; Marion, Royal Center; Carr, Denver and Larkin, Dayton.
Final rites will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at LaCrosse Methodist church and interment will be made in the Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening at the Kosanke funeral home in Kouts.

14. Obituary: Vidette-Messenger: obituary of Merrill Beecher on 15 Nov 1954 in Valparaiso, Porter, IN. ¹⁵ Merrill C. Beecher,43, RFD 1, LaCrosse, died at 11 p. m. Saturday at Memorial hospital in South Bend, after a two weeks illness. He was born in Fulton, Ind., May 28, 1911. He has been a farmer in the LaCrosse area for the past 16 years coming there from Twelve Mile, Ind. He was a member of the LaCrosse Methodist church, North Judson lodge, 438 F and AM, Scottish Rite of South Bend and the Starke county Scottish Rite club. He was married to Elizabeth Fetrow of Logansport Sept. 3, 1931. He is survived by his wife, Eliza beth; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Beecher of Peru, Ind; one daughter, Sharon at home; and two sons, Fred of LaCrosse and Laverne at home. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Elaine Shafer of Royal Center, Ind., Mrs. Maxlne Johnson, and Mrs. Harriet Morris both of Logansport, Mrs. Jean Grable, Twelve Mile, and four brothers, Everett of Thomaston, Ind., Marion, Royal Center, Carr of Denver, Ind., and Larkin of Macey, Ind. There is also one grandchild surviving. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 at the LaCrosse Methodist church, with the Rev. Kendall Sands officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening at the Kosanke Brothers Funeral home at Kouts.
