Beecher on 6 Oct 2010. ¹ Helen Faithe Beecher, 89, of Connellsville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. She was born June 19, 1921, in Star Junction, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Voda. Helen was a member of St. John's Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville. She was employed as a waitress at the Wonder Bar Restaurant for several years. She was a member of the VFW Post 21 Ladies Auxiliary. Helen enjoyed sewing and needle pointing in her spare time. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Helen is survived by two loving sons, John R. Pepe, with whom she resided, and Mark A. Pepe and his wife, Cassandra, of Dunbar; grandchildren, Vanessa Breakiron and husband, Mike, of Dunbar, Robert Bigley and wife, Pat, of Mt. Pleasant, Brian Bigley, Joel Bigley and wife, Olive, of Dunbar; great-grandchildren, Zachary Breakiron, Robbie Bigley, Kyle Bigley, Mariah Bigley, Kody Bigley, Hope Bigley and Kelsey Bigley, all of Dunbar; and a sister, Barbara Mato, of Butler. Helen was predeceased by the following sisters and brothers: William Voda, Edward Voda, Mary Murray, Margaret Vargo, Mary Murray, Margaret Vargo, Anne Curtis, Andy Soberdash and Steve Soberdash; and her husband, Kenneth Beecher. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side Connellsville, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. John's Evangelist Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Dennis Bogusz as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Helen married Kenneth Thompson Beecher, son of Thompson Walker Beecher and Anna Pearl Kiehl, in , Fayette, PA.
