Miss Patricia Ann Beecher became the bride of Capt. (USAF) Richard Clarke McCoy, at 3 p.m. on Sept 26, 1970, in the Army War College Chapel, Carlisle Barracks.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn K. Beecher, 547 W. Penn St., and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. McCoy, Tarrytown, N.Y.
The double ring ceremony was performed by Chaplain Francis X. Rogue, assisted by the Rev. Gerald Kauffman, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church. The organist was the bride's aunt, Mrs. Edward Bitner, Middle-town, N.Y.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Her gown of ivory polyester crepe featured a full length vest of white and ivory cotton brocade, fastened with pearl buttons and ending in a short chapel train. Seed pearls embellished the high-necked collar, bodice and cuffs of the full bishop sleeves. A juliet cap, enhanced by seed pearls, held her triple-tiered veil of illusion, and she carried a bouquet of white roses, wood roses, sea oats and okra.
The bride designed and made her gown and all the gowns of her attendants.
Miss Janice Beecher was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Linda McCoy, the bridegroom's sister; Mrs. Jack Keith, Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Mrs. Robert Reardon, Wilmington, Del.
Their three-piece ensembles featured orange crepe blouses with double jabots and long sleeves; fitted hip-length vests of yellow and olive gold cotton brocade; and, a-line skirts of orange and olive gold cotton brocade. They wore picture hats of gold chiffon trimmed with honey brown ribbon, and carried bouquets of spider chrysanthemums, wood roses, straw flowers, sea oats and okra. For her daughter's wedding, the bride's mother chose a green print dress of Thai silk, matching light green silk worsted coat, beige accessories, and corsage of yellow cymbidium orchids.
The birdegroom's mother's ensemble was a beige and white cotton faille dress and jacket with white beaded accents, bone accessories, and a corsage of green cymbidium orchids.
John C. McCoy, Jr. was his brother's best man. Another brother, Robert C. McCoy, and the bride's brother, Dennis Beecher, were ushers, as were Herbert Siglinger, Virginia Beach, Va. and Jeffrey Kelly, Wabban, Mass.
The reception was held in the Officers Club, Carlisle Barracks. Out-of-town guests were from New York, Pittsburgh and Ohio. The bridegroom's parents entertained after Friday night's rehearsal at Clemson's Party House, RD1.
The bride was graduated in 1964 from Carlisle High School, and in 1968 from the University of Delaware. She has been an air hostess with Pan American World Airways, New York City, and was on duty on the flight that took the Carlisle High School band to Europe in July.
