An interesting quirk is that Henry Calvin Snyder is related to Johan Nicholaus Schneider on both his mother and father's side of his tree. His great grandfather's daughter was his mother's grandmother!

Jonas real estate was valued at $3,500 and William's $0 indicating he is living on Jonas land. The post office is Green Briar.

2. Census in 1870 in Mahanoy Twp., Schuylkill, PA. 18 The 1870 census recorded Wm. S. Snyder, laborer, 35, living with wife Harriet, 33; Lewis, 14; Henry C., 13; Kate S., 12; William, 10; Frank, 8; Mary 4, and Charles E., 3 months. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office was Mahanoy City.

3. Census in 1880 in Shenandoah, Schuylkill, PA. 14 The 1880 census recorded living on Jardin Street: Henry C. Snyder, cigar maker, 22, living with wife Lizzy A., 23; and son Arthur B., 1. They and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

4. Census in 1900 in Allentown, Lehigh, PA. 19 The 1900 census recorded renting a home at 930 Allen Street: Henry C. Snyder, stationary engineer, 43, born Nov 1857, living with wife Lizzie, 44, Oct 1856; children Maud, 19, Apr 1881; Elias, 17, Jun 1883; and William, 15, Jun 1885; his twin sister Bertha, 15, Jun 1885, and Blanch, 10, May 1890. Henry C. Snyder, 130 S. 7th St., who resides with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hardentstine, was entertained at dinner Sunday at Shankweiler's on his 80th birthday anniversary, which he observed yesterday. Mr. Snyder, born in Frackville, Schuylkill county, the son of a leather dealer and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. William Snyder, has been a resident of Allentown for 35 years. Active at Seibert church, he is a charter member of the W.U.G. Sunday school class which presented him with a basket of flowers yesterday, during the services. Walter Schnock, in presenting the gift, paid tribute to Mr. Snyder's fine Christian character and his influence upon members of the class. The celebrant responded, declaring he receives inspiration from the class and his association with the members thereof. Mr. Snyder was employed until three years ago. He reads a great deal, keeping up with all that is of interest locally and throughout the world. Mr. Snyder's wife passed away 30 years ago. There are six sons and a daughter, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. At the birthday dinner were: Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Snyder and son Fredric, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Snyder and daughter Lucy, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Snyder, Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Hardenstine, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Beacher, all of Allentown, and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. He is buried in the Highland cemetery in Allentown and a tombstone marks his grave. He was an engineer and had the public school education. He married Lizzie M. Smith-Snyder (2-5) on December 21, 1878 and they had eight

She is buried in the Highland cemetery at Allentown and a tombstone marks her grave. She was a housewife and had the public school education. She married Henry Snyder (2-5) on December 21, 1878 and their eight children are given under his name.

Retired Slatington Engineer Was in His 83rd Year

Henry C. Snyder, retired stationary engineer, died at 3:10 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. N. Hardenstine, 130 S. 7th St., Allentown, where he had made his home. He was in his 83rd year.
Mr. Snyder was born in Schuylkill county, a son of the late William S. and Harriet, nee Eisenhard, Snyder. He was preceded in death 32 years ago by his wife, Lizzie, nee Smith, Snyder.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Hardenstine, Mrs. B. F. Beacher, Allentown; Mrs. John Reeves, Nanticoke; Elias A. and William H. Snyder of Allentown and Kenneth Snyder of Emmaus. Also surviving are two brothers, William Snyder of Allentown and John Snyder of Irvington, N.J., 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
For a number of years Mr. Snyder was employed as a stationary engineer at plants and stores in this vicinity. He retired twelve years ago after being the engineer at the Koch Bros. store. He was a member of the Seibert E.C. church. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p. m. at the J. S. Burkholder funeral home, 1601 Hamilton St. Interment in Highland cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p. m.
