Bucher [transcription error, handwriting in census is Beecher], barber, 25, living with wife Pauline F., 23; Dorothy M., 3 years 1 month; and Joan M., 1 year 6 months. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. Living in the same building are relatives Thomas Staumbaugh, 26, and his wife Gertrude. In the home at 163 Water Street is Anna Stambaugh, widow, 68, and her daughter Edna M., single, 42.

2. Census in 1940 in York, York, PA. 3 The 1940 census recorded at 659 N. Market Street: Edward Beecher, barber (own shop), 35, living with wife Pauline, 33; Dorothy, 13; and Joan, 11. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. In 1935 Edward was living in Newport, Perry county.

The marriage of Miss Joan Marie Beecher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward S. Beecher, 940 West Princess street, and Francis William Dauber, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis W. Dauber, Sr., 1521 North George street, was solemnized at 9 o'clock yesterday morning in Immaculate Conception church by Rt. Rev. Msgr. George J. Breckel.
For the single ring ceremony the bride chose as her only attendant her sister, Dorothy Mae Beecher. James Sowers, 1401 West King street, was best man.
The bride's gown was simply fashioned of tulle over ivory satin with a fitted bodice, short puffed sleeves and full skirt. She wore a tulle veil, fingertip length, and carried a cascade bouquet of white orchids and stephanotis. Miss Beecher was frocked in delicate pink net over pink satin, with which she wore a shoulder-length net veil falling from a halo of pink flowers and carried a bouquet of mixed flowers. The bride's mother chose a dove rose crepe suit with black accessories and a shoulderette of gardenias, and the bridegroom's mother wore navy blue with matching accessories and a shoulderette of gardenias.
A wedding breakfast was served to the immediate families at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan A. Bortner, 599 West Market street, after which Mr. and Mrs. Dauber left for Lake Placid, N. Y., and an extended trip through Canada. They will be at home to friends after July 15 in their newly-furnished apartment at 303 South George street. The bride travelled in a short coat of pastel blue over a plain black linen dress.
The bride attended schools in Ohio and York and was formerly employed by the Bell Telephone company. The bridegroom attended York Catholic High school, served three years with the ski troops and is now affiliated with John Dauber, Florist.
Out-of-town guests here for the wedding included Mrs. C. A. Shive and son, Springfield, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Clifford R: Burgbigler, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mr. and Mrs. John C. Clements, of North Carolina.

She was the companion of Kenneth R. Stevens. The service will be 10 a.m. Monday, with a Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 315 S. George St., York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Robert F. Roller Funeral Home Inc., 2000 W. Market St., York. Mrs. Dauber was born in Spring Grove. She was the daughter of Pauline F. (Barnhill) Beecher, Spring Grove, and the late Edward S. Beecher. She was employed by BDM International, McLean, as a county clerk. She had worked as an administrative secretary in the treasurers and sheriffs offices in the York County Courthouse for several years. She also had been an intake officer for the Domestic Relations Office for several years, prior to moving to Virginia. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, York. Mrs. Dauber also is survived by a son, Thomas Dauber of York; a daughter, Jane B. Duke of York; two grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Strayer of Spring Grove. Officiating as celebrant for the Mass will be her pastor, the Rev. J. Michael McFadden.
