• Book: History of Lehigh County, Volume II, 1914. 1 Andrew Eisenhard, the ancestor of this family, was born Sept 22, 1715, and settled at an early date in Macungie Township. He was naturalized April 10, 1761, and a few years later secured by warrant a tract of 300 acres of land in the township. He later added to this and at the time of his death on March 14, 1770, he owned 400 acres, which his eldest son, Andrew, secured at its valuation of L550. His wife, Anna Maria Eisenhard, was born Aug. 20, 1718, and died Feb 14, 1760. He married the second time, March 14, 1764, Dorothea, widow of George Volck, nee Dewees, a native of Amity township, Philadelphia county, where she was born Aug. 18, 1722. Andrew Eisenhard and his wife were members of the Moravian Church and are buried at Emaus. He had seven children: Andrew, Joseph, Jacob, Margaret, Simon, Samuel and one other name unknown.
