16. Obituary: Post-Gazette: obituary of John J. Beecher on 16 Jan 1980 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, PA. 12 John J. Beecher, 80, retired assistant secretary of the Hazelwood branch of Equibank, died yesterday at his residence in the Canongate Apartments, Whitehall. Mr. Beecher retired in 1964 after 35 years with the bank. He attended Allegheny College and the University of Pittsburgh where he earned letters in basketball, tennis and track.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, and two brothers, Walter and George R. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow in the L. Beinhauer and Son Mortuary, 2630 West Liberty Ave., South Hills, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
