About 200 persons were present and a lovely day was spent. A real serenading was given to Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Biecher. Mrs. Biecher was formerly Grace Burkholder of Shippensubrg. She being the only on ein the connection married during the past year. The old officers were reelected for next year. It was decided to hold a reunion next year about the same time at Meadow Brook Park.

Alvin Andrew (A. A.) Burkholder, former resident of the Newburg area, died Thursday, July 3, at 4:20 a.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Biecher, 139 East Catherine st., Chambersburg. Death of the 81 year old man was attributed to cornary thrombosis.
Born July 10, 1870 on Newburg R. R. 1, Mr. Burkholder was a son of the late A. A. and Mary Burkholder. He was a retired cabinet maker and would have been 82 on July 10. He was a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren church in Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elva Burkholder of Chambersburg; three daughters, Mrs. Lee Reed of Lewistown; Mrs. Paul Mentzer of Shippensburg R. R. 3, and Mrs. Biecher, at whose home he died. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. David Brown of Amberson Valley and Mrs. Naomi, Henry of Carlisle; one brother, John Burkholder of Newburg R. R. 1, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the M. Garfield Barbour funeral home. The Rev. S. Fred Christman, pastor of the First EUB church in Chambersburg, will officiate. Interment will be in Spring Hill cemetery. Friends may call Friday evening at the funeral home.
