Barley officiated at the candelight ceremony, for which wedding music was provided by Mrs, Margaret Olsen, organist. and Paul Beacher, uncle of the bridegroom, soloist. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a French lace gown with long petit point sleeves. Her lace crown was ornamented with irides cent sequins and she carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid. Maid of honor was Shirley Buckenberger, sister of the bride, who wore a yelow net-over-taffetta gown with full skirt, fitted bodice and bolero. She wore a matching net tiara and carried a colonial bouquet of yellow rosebuds and white pompons. Bridesmaids were Patsy Cooper, Kathleen Renninger and Jean Smedley, all of Danville, who wore Dink net gowns and carried colonial bouquets of pink rosebuds and white pompons. Janet Fsester, Danville, was the flowergirl and carried a basket of mixed blooms. The best man was George Pappas, and the ushers were Richard Johns, William Hancock and William Steinman, all of Danville. A reception took place in the church social hall, after which the newlyweds left for New York City. They are residing at 320 East Centre street, Danville. John J. Balliet, 59, a 20-year resident at 138 Sunken Heights Ave., Bloomsburg, died Saturday evening at Geisinger Medical Center. Born Dec 23 1932 in Shenandoa, he was the son of the late John A. and Evelyn E. Beacher Balliet. He worked in the tool and gauge department of Textron for 33 years. Mr. Balliet was a graduate of the West Mahoning Township High School and attended Penn State University. He was a veteran of the Army. He was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Mr. Balliet was a member of the American Legion Odd Fellows Rescue Hook and Ladder Company and the Masonic Lodge, all of Shenandoah. Surviving are his wife of 32 years, the former Carol A. Buckenberger; five daughters: Judy A. Heddens, Elysburg; Jill A. Balliet, Danville and Jennifer A., Jamie A., and Jessica A. Balliet, all at home. Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Nancy Firestone, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the New Rosemont Cemetery.
