It is Thought Young Claud Smith Will Be.
Claud I. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Smith, was severly burned about the face and head on Wednesday afternoon at the Central works of the American iron and steel manufacturing company, and it is now feared that he will be disfigured for life. Calvin Smith, a brother, was also slightly burned but is improving rapidly. The accident was caused by carelessness and neglect in not shutting off the blast of the furnance at the proper time.

Claude I. Smith, 63, of 229 North Partridge Street, policeman at the local Bethlehem Steel plant, died in the Good Samaritan Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, following an illness of three week of complication. He was a member of the Lebanon Gospel Center Church at Seventh and Willow Sts. Survivors are his wife, nee Mary Gensler; a son Charles Smith, Lebanon; a sister Mr. Irene Ollnger, Lebanon, and three grandchildren.
