• Book: Genealogy of the Coffinberry Family, 1952. 1 Mary (Polly) Coffinberry was born September 2, 1787. (Died 1861.) She married a Swiss by the name of Abram Bitcher. At this time the name Bitcher was pronounced Pitcher; but a generation or so later it was changed to Beecher, which descendants now bear. Mary Coffinberry married Abram Bitcher in the year 1803. He was born in 1782 and died in 1844. ___ children were born of this union. I am not positive, but think that the names which follow are those of the children of Mary Coffinberry: Abram, George, Burke, Gilruth, Jane, Eliza, Sara Lucinda.
