1. Obituary: in , Ford, IL. 2 ASHLEY, ROSALENA A. BEECHER - 81, of Gibson City, and formerly of Anchor, died at 4:20 a.m. Monday 12-23-1985 at the Gibson Community Hospital Annex where she had lived for 10 years. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, near Anchor, with the Rev. Melvin C. Blobaum officiating. Burial will be at Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City, Il. Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m. Thursday at the Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, and after 9 a.m. Friday at the Church. Mrs. Ashley was born 11-4-1904, at Anchor Twp, a daughter of William and Henrietta Simpsen Beecher. She married Clyde J. Ashley on 6-6-1929 at Anchor. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Norman Ashley of Sibley and Wesley Ashley of Gibson City; a daughter, Sherilyn Bathgate of Agoura Hills, Calif.; a sister, Florence Painter of Anchor; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother. Mrs. Ashley was a graduate of the Sherwood School of Music, Chicago, and a graduate of the Brown Business College of Bloomington. She taught music in the Anchor, Sibley and Gibson City areas for many years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as church organist for many years. She was a past president of the Dorcas Society of the church. Mrs. Ashley was also a member of the Gibson Community Hospital Auxiliary and the Gibson City Women's Club,. She was former chairman of the Sibley Parents and Teachers Association and served on the Ford County PTA Board. She was a former secretary of the District 6 PTA and former member of Burr Oak Home Bureau. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

2. Census in 1910 in Anchor Twp, Mclean, IL. 3 William R. Beecher, farmer, 33, was married for 10 years to wife Henrietta, 30. She had birthed 2 children who were living with her: Henry W., 9; and Rosalina, 5. William and Henrietta's parents were from Germany, everyone else was born in Illinois.

Next door is Edward J. Beecher, farmer, 26, married for 4 years to Maud, 21. She had birthed 2 children, 1 alive in 1910: Ida N., 3.


Rosalena married Clyde J. Ashley, son of Leon Ashley and Elizabeth Nierstheimer, on 6 Jun 1929 in Anchor, McLean, IL. (Clyde J. Ashley was born on 28 Feb 1905 in Sibley, Ford, IL,2 died on 1 Jan 1993 in Agoura Hills, Los Angeles, CA 2 and was buried in Gibson City: Drummer Cemetery, Ford, IL 2.)
