BEECHER, JOHN EDWARD - The funeral for John Edward Beecher, 86, who died Friday night at the Kinsell Nursing Home, Saybrook, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, south of Anchor. Pastor Alexander Youck will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 9 p.m. Sunday at the Harper Funeral Home in Colfax. Mr. Beecher was born 2-13-1884 in Sibley, a son of William and Anna Stroh Beecher. He married Maud Hasty 2-21-1906 at Anchor. She died 1-30-1952. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Ida) Schleeter, Anchor; Mrs. Roy (Melba) Quinn, Gibson City; and Mrs. LaRue (Mildred) Trembly, Bloomington; three sons, Ed, Delmar and Ralph, all of Pontiac; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Lage, Gibson City, and Mrs. John Lorig, Waseca, Minn.; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. A son and a daughter, six brothers and two sisters, a grandson and a great-grandson also preceded him in death. Mr. Beecher was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church.
