Census in 1880 in Mount Carmel, Northumberland, PA. ¹⁰ The 1880 census recorded Jacob Joust [written as Joust not Youst by census taker], laborer, 55, living with wife Jacobina, 56; daughter Lizzie, 31; son Henry, laborer, 22; grandson Jacob Katz, 9; grandson Daniel Katz, 7; and grandson Samuel Kremer, 5. Jacob, Jacobina, and Lizzie and their parents were born in Germany. Henry and the grandsons were born in Pennsylvania. The grandson's fathers were born in Pennsylvania and their mothers in Germany.

2. Census in 1900 in Mount Carmel Twp., Northumberland, PA. ¹ Renting a home on E. Mt. Carmel Ave. was Henry Youst, coal miner, 42, born Jul 1857, was married for 19 years to wife Johanna, 34, Jan 1866. She had birthed 7 children, 3 still alive in 1900. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. They lived in the same house in 1935.

Henry N. Youst, 84, member of a pioneer Mount Carmel family, died yesterday in Northumberland County Hospital along the Trevorton Road.
In poor health three years and hospitalized the past six weeks, he succumbed to the effects of a stroke he suffered last Friday. When his family moved from 638 east Fifth street, Stuartsville, to Philadelphia a short time ago, his condition was such that he was unable to accompany them.
The funeral will be held from the Higgins funeral home here Saturday afternoon with Rev. Edward T. Uhler, of the United Brethren in Christ Church, conducting services at 1:30 o'clock. Burial will be made in Mount Carmel cemetery. There will be viewing at the funeral home tomorrow evening and Saturday.
Born in Minersville, July 29, 1857, a son of the late Jacob and Jacobina Youst, the deceased was a young boy when his parents located in Mount Carmel. HIs father was a Pennsylvania Volunteer in the Civil War. Mr. Youst, who through long years of residence here had gained many friends and acquaintances, was a colliery worker.
His wife, Anna (Derr) Youst, died January 29, 1939. Survivors are a son, Roy, of Darby, Philadelphia, a daughter, Emma, wife of William Beecher, Monterey, California, 17 grandchildren and about 20 great-grandchildren.

Henry married Johanna Derr, daughter of George Derr and Matilda Maurer, about 1881.¹ (Johanna Derr was born on 14 Feb 1866 in Mount Carmel, Northumberland, PA,^{1 14 15} died on 29 Jan 1939 in Mount Carmel, Northumberland, PA ^{6 14 15} and was buried on 1 Feb 1939 in Mount Carmel: Mount Carmel Cemetery, Northumberland, PA, USA ^{14 15}.)
