• Census, 1920, Salinas: Alisal Township, Monterey County, California, USA. ⁵ May Beecher, sister-in-law, 14, single, was living with Geo. A. Kelly, 23, and his wife Edith, 18. Edith and May and their parents were born in Pennsylvania; George and his parents were born in California. George worked in a grocery store, Edith as a laundress, and May had no occupation. They were renting an apartment or boarding home at 113 E. Gabilan St. in Salinas.

• Census, 1930, San Francisco, San Francisco County, California, USA. ⁶ Pete Naro, private musician, 35, was living with wife May, 23; and son Billie, 3. Pete was married at age 30, when May was 17. Pete was born in Louisiana, and his parents in Italy. May was born in California, her parents in Pennsylvania. Billie was born in California. Pete was a veteran of World War I. They were renting at 1730 Turk St. in San Francisco.
