2. Census in 1870 in Grant Twp., Hancock, WV. ³ Saml M. Bucher, farmer, 20, was living with mother Amanda, 53; sisters Mary, 22, and Emeline, 16; brother John, 13; and sister Alice, 11. Everyone was born in Virginia except Amanda in Pennsylvania. Samuel has no real estate value, but Amanda's farm was worth $12,000 and personal estate $800. The post office was New Cumberland.
