Next door (on the previous census page) is Mary A. Jacobs, servant, 16, living in a hotel owned by hotel keeper Robert Philips, 60. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office was Broad Mountain.

2. Census in 1870 in Shenandoah, Schuylkill, PA. 1 The 1870 census listed William Jacob (no S), laborer, 50, living with wife Mary, 48; Emma, 17; and William, 8. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office was Shenandoah.

3. Census in 1880 in Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania, USA. 6 The 1880 census recorded at 149 West Fourth Street: Isaac N. Adis, plastering, 29, living with wife Emma A., 29; and daughter Mamy, 4, and son Henry, 2. The cenus recorded that Isaac suffered from "inflamation of lungs." Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

5. Newspaper: Reading Times: Mrs. William Jacobs, 9 May 1908, Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania, USA. 8 Mrs. Mary Jacobs, wife of William Jacobs, died at her home, at Shenandoah, aged 88 years. Her husband the three children survive, as follows: Mrs. Isaac N. Addis, 531 Windsor street, this city; William Jacobs and Mrs. Mary Smith, of Shenandoah, and Mrs. Henrietta Beecher, of Mt. Carmel.

6. Obituary: Reading Times: Obituary of Mrs. Issac V. Addis on 10 Feb 1915 in Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania, USA. 4 Emma (Jacobs), wife of Issac N. Addis, aged 61, died at 6 a. m. Tuesday of Bright's disease in the Homeopathic hospital. She was suddenly taken ill on Monday evening and was immediately removed to the institution. She was born in New Castle, Schuylkill county, but lived in Reading for the past 35 years. Besides her husband she leaves these children: Elmer, Mrs. Bert Price, Evelyn, Reading. A brother, William J. Jacobs, Shenandoah, also remain. Deceased was a member of Windsor street M. E. church. The body was forwarded to her residence, 523 Front street, where the funeral will be held.

Obituary: Republican and Herald: oibutary of Mrs. Isaac Addis on 10 Feb 1915 in Pottsville, Schuylkill, PA. 9 Mrs. Isaac Addis, of Reading, 61 years old, died at the Reading Homeopathic hospital yesterday after an illness of one day. She is survived by her husband, three children and one brother, W. J. Jacobs, of town.

8. Newspaper: Republican and Herad: funeral of Mrs. S. N. Addis, 13 Feb 1915, Pottsville, Schuylkill, PA. 10 The funeral of the late Mrs. S. N. Addis, a sister of W. J. Jacobs, of West Oak street, who died suddenly at ther home in Reading, Tuesday morning, took place at two o'clock this afternoon and was very largely attended. Interment was made at Reading. During the past seven years Mr. Jacobs has been sadly bereaved., his omther and three sisters passing away within that time. Besides Mr. Jacobs, Mrs. Alfred Horrocks and Benjamin Beacher, of town, attended the funeral.

9. Newspaper: Reading Times: Funeral of Emma A. Addis, 15 Feb 1915, Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania, USA. 5 The funeral of Emma A., wife of Issac N. Addis was held at 2 p. m. Saturday from her late residence, 523 North Front street. Services were conducted at the house by Rev. Frank Herson. The body was attired in a black silk dress and rested in a solid walnut casket with silver extension bar handles and plate bearing name and age.
Relatives and friends from Shenandoah, Hazleton and other points in the coal regions were present. The pall-bearers were: Elmer Addis, Bert Price, George Price and William Jacobs.
The tributes were: Carnations and narcissus, Ernest Hebner; wreath with roses and sweat peas, Knaut family; pillow, husband and daughter Evelyn and family; wreath, Mrs. Minnie Price; blanket, son. Interment was made in Charles Evans cemetery. Undertaker, Seidel.
