Rudolph Schneider 1
• Book. 1 Rudolph Snyder, son of John S., was born Feb. 3, 1852, in Upper Mahanoy Township, and received a common school education. He was reared to farming, working for his parents until he attained his majority, after which he engaged in huckstering for seven years, making weekly trips to Shenandoah and Mahanoy City. During this time he continued to live at home. Then, in the spring of 1881, he came to the place where he has ever since lived, following general farming, in which he has been very successful. He has an eighty-five-acre farm, formerly a Ressler homestead, and the property has been improved considerably during his ownership. In 1903 he built the present barn, and in 1909 he made an addition to the house. Rudolph married Sarah Alice Geist, daughter of Daniel H. Geist and Cecellia Updegraff, in 1881.1 |
